Keoni Derenne was born and raised in Honolulu, Oahu and is a 1997 graduate of Iolani School where he lettered in baseball for four years. During his high school career Keoni helped to guide his team to two consecutive State Championships while earning All-ILH and State honors his Junior and Senior seasons. He was the Honolulu Advertiser’s Player of the Year in 1997 and went on to win numerous Pac-10 awards at the University of Arizona. Keoni represented the State of Hawaii well as he was a member of the USA National Team. His accomplishments at the University of Arizona resulted in the Atlanta Braves drafting Keoni in the 12th round of the 2000 amateur draft.

Keoni is currently a member of the York Revolution which is in the Independent League.
